Hmmm. Summer is so almost over and I'm so not ready for it to be. So much to do, so little time to do it. *sigh*

This week has been interesting. It started off with a visitor arriving at our front door on Monday afternoon. Of course it was a crash and burn Monday and half of my family was still in pajamas at 4:00 in the afternoon. The house wasn't as bad as it normally would have been on such a day, but it still wasn't in the kind of shape one would like it to be in for company. Anyway, when the doorbell rang we didn't think much of it and when it was followed by a knock we assumed that it was the neighbor kids so Han went to tell them that the little ones were already playing in the back yard. She came running back in a second and told us that it was not the neighbor kids, but rather an unknown male for whom she had not opened the door. We (Ev, Shau, Han and I) sat for a moment on my bed and then Shau said, "Wait, do you think it could be..." and then jumped up and ran across the hall to her bedroom window and looked out. In a second she was screaming and running back and saying, "He has blonde hair and is wearing a hat and is driving a red truck.!" Shreiks of disbelief pour forth and then Ev runs across the hall to look out Shau's window. More shreiks from her and she shoots back into my room where we all proceed to shreik some more. Thankfully she was the one out of us all who was actually dressed appropriately, because she was the one who needed to open the door.

Three weeks ago Ev went to an international camping program. She had been selected from our region to attend and while she was there she met a young man from Alabama. Once she was home he called her every day and they talked for hours. He wanted to come see her but was very vague as to when. He had told her that he'd have to save some money to make the trip so she certainly wasn't expecting him to show up on the front doorstep Monday afternoon. Surprise, surprise, surprise! Bama scores major points with Ev, but Mom is taken a little off guard. I mean, I didn't even have any clothes in my bedroom to put on and go out to meet him. Curse that iron pile downstairs!

So, it looks as if the girl who was certain that the guy she wanted did not exist is now not so certain. Pretty much the only thing he doesn't have that she would have liked is Johnny Depp's exact looks, but we can't all be married to such a man, can we Sally? *wink wink* Other than that he meets all of the criteria: he loves God, kids, his family, is a leader, fits into any social situation, is smart, athletic, cute, considerate, mannerly, genuine, sincere, likeable, and likes to pamper. Ev evidently had him built to order. Honestly, I couldn't have picked out a better guy for her myself.

Other news this week is that Lil turned 1 year old. I can't believe that a year has alread ticked by. She's walking really well now and this year will not be as laid back as the last one was. That's bad news for me but it's what I signed on for.

And the final news, for all you Killer fans like Yvonne, is that Brandon Flowers (Mr. Brightside) works as a chef at a Japanese steakhouse here in town. I know that because he cooked at my table last night. Of course he told us that his name was Steve, but Ev and Shau and I weren't fooled for a second. I'm guessing that he's off tour and this is a way for him to keep up his performance skills. The food wasn't as tasty as usual, but who cared?
