CURRENT READS-
"A wise woman--an admired mother and wife--when asked
how, with her weak physical health and many demands upon her
time, she managed to read so much, said, 'Besides my Bible, I
always keep books going that are just for me--a stiff book, a
moderately easy book, and a novel, and I always take up the one
I feel fit for.'"

Oasis time
2004-12-28
11:26 p.m.
Finally, an oasis of pure quiet in my day. Husband's asleep, sick baby's asleep, and the 6 other children are asleep. Well, probably all of them but the two teenagers. Anyway, it's silent and I have some solitude. I should go to bed but it's just so nice to be alone and conscious at the same time. I really do enjoy my own company and I seem to have so little of it these days. But not to rush things. There will be a day for the baby to be grown, but that time's not now--now's the time for me to enjoy her just the way she is....soft and fat and absolutely adorable and delightful. Ah, but still it's nice to find the daily let-down. So, this has been therapeutic and now that I've had my little "me time" I'd better crawl into bed before the baby awakes. Uh-oh...I think I'm too late for that. A woman's work is never done. Truly!
