"A wise woman--an admired mother and wife--when asked
how, with her weak physical health and many demands upon her
time, she managed to read so much, said, 'Besides my Bible, I
always keep books going that are just for me--a stiff book, a
moderately easy book, and a novel, and I always take up the one
I feel fit for.'"

Grounding myself from D'land
2005-02-28
5:52 p.m.
I managed to stay away from D'land for an entire weekend, and what's more, I also managed to not iron even one stitch of clothing. Wait, I take that back. I ironed two stitches of clothing because Lil had to have something decent to wear when we went out yesterday. So, basically I managed to blow off and entire weekend without doing anything productive other than iron one tiny pair of pants and a shirt. Obviously, grounding myself from D'land until I get everything ironed isn't going to work. The fact that I have a pile of clothes stacked nearly to the ceiling (you think I'm kidding) and no motivation to tackle them is really sucky. I'll eventually have to do something or we'll all be going naked. Eh, whatever.
